MANY good marketing mentors are Christian but do not advertise themselves as such. There are also many marketing mentors who think a person's spirituality has nothing to do with PROFITABLE marketing success, skills, and their student's progress and may in fact get in the way of progress.

To profit, I have learned to first make sure I am PROPERLY POSITIONED for profit and then place my focus on the relationships and spiritual principles that attend to serving others for their highest good eternally. I want to live life in such a way that people are drawn into close relationship with God; therefore I advertise myself as a Christian Marketing Success Educator. Scripture says that we are the "aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing." 2 Cor. 2:15 Our training as marketers tells us that much of what we bring to the table in the educational milieu is who we are as people. So, I let people know up front who I am.

The bible tells us that we are three part beings. We have a physical body. We have a soul, which is our mind, will and emotions, and we have a spirit; that can relate directly to our Heavenly Father through relationship with Jesus Christ. Some success can be achieved by thinking differently, and acting differently, however, there is an untapped spiritual dimension to success if we choose not to include God in the mix when we seek marketing success, especially success in general. The wholeness and profit a person can experience is compromised without the spiritual component.

So what does that look like in the GPTU marketing educational setting? I frequently ask students where they are on their spiritual journey. As a Professional Marketing Success Educator, I am not able to, nor would I want to, tell people how they must believe. I can however, tell them what I have experienced and how my faith has helped me through difficult times in my life and career. If a person wants prayer, or biblical passages for encouragement, I do that. If they are uncomfortable with that, at least they know it is an avenue available to them even when they are not with me in a training session. I never underestimate the power of God to continue revealing truth to a person outside of my educational system and training sessions.

It amazes me how many times a student has said something like "What you said in the last training really made a difference in my results." When asked what it was that I said, it is often something that I thought was insignificant. The point is, God is at work bringing revelation and truth to students even when I am not conscious of saying anything profound. It's exciting to be a "conduit" through which the power of God can flow.

My Christianity is not about church affiliation. It is about having a personal and CULTIVATED relationship with God that is real and a part of everyday life. God is the one that gives me understanding of my purpose in life. He is the one who gives life meaning and reassures me of my value. He is the one that comforts me when all around me seems to crumble, and sets my feet upon the firm foundation of his love. And He is the one who encourages me to teach others about my experiences with Him. The more I practice listening to His small still voice the better He has been able to bless me and my family in all areas including profits. The great news is that what He does for me; He will do for anyone who seeks Him.

"In this world you will have tribulation." John 16:33 There is no one who escapes this reality. Life on planet Earth is fraught with difficult circumstances that challenge us to place our trust in God, and in faith believe that what we are experiencing here is NOT all there is.

A Christian marketing mentor can help a person look at ways they think and believe, consider options, weigh the alternatives against the moral compass of the bible, and if allowed, point people to the One who IS PROVISION and who provides also peace in the midst of the storm.
